Rules for a respectful MaitriAdda community

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use form a binding electronic agreement between you and MaitriAdda. By creating an account, selecting an acceptance box, accessing member features or otherwise using MaitriAdda, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy, Community Rules and Safety Guide are part of the rules governing your use of the platform. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use member features.

2. Eligibility and Adult Use

MaitriAdda is strictly for adults aged 18 years or older. You must also be legally capable of entering into these Terms and must not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law.

3. Platform Purpose

MaitriAdda is a Maharashtra-focused community platform for adults seeking genuine friendship, companionship, activity partners, networking and meaningful social connections. People connected with Maharashtra may use the platform even if they currently live or work elsewhere.

MaitriAdda is not a matrimonial service, identity-verification agency, employment service, emergency service or professional adviser. It does not promise a connection, response, match, event outcome or relationship.

4. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for your account, profile, credentials, content and activity. Information must be accurate enough not to mislead other members, and you must promptly correct material inaccuracies.

• Provide honest and respectful account information.
• Do not create fake, misleading or unauthorised duplicate accounts.
• Keep your password private, use a secure device and notify support of suspected compromise.
• Do not sell, transfer, share or allow another person to use your account.
• Do not place phone numbers, home addresses, financial details or other unnecessary sensitive data in public profile fields.
• Use the available Public, Connections Only or Hidden visibility setting carefully.
• Comply with reasonable verification or safety checks when requested.

5. Acceptable Use and Member Conduct

You must use MaitriAdda lawfully and treat others with dignity, consent and respect. You must not host, upload, publish, transmit, store, update or share content or engage in conduct that:

You agree not to:

• belongs to another person or infringes privacy, copyright, trademark or other rights;
• is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, harassing, exploitative, sexually explicit or harmful to minors;
• impersonates another person or knowingly communicates materially false or misleading information;
• promotes fraud, money laundering, gambling, illegal goods, violence or other unlawful activity;
• contains malware, malicious code or attempts to disrupt, probe or bypass platform security;
• uses automated scraping, bots, bulk messaging or data harvesting without written permission;
• spams, solicits money, runs unauthorised promotions or asks for passwords, OTPs or financial credentials;
• violates the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, public order or any applicable law; or
• retaliates against a member for blocking, declining, reporting or ending communication.

6. Connections, Blocking and Messaging

Connection requests are invitations, not obligations. A member may ignore, decline, cancel or block contact at any time. Messaging is available only where current connection and safety rules permit it.

• Do not repeatedly contact someone after a decline, block or request to stop.
• Do not pressure anyone to reply, meet, share contact details or move to another service.
• Do not ask for passwords, OTPs, private documents, bank details or a home address.
• Do not misuse messages for spam, promotion, manipulation, fraud or harassment.
• Use block and report tools for genuine safety or rule concerns.

7. Privacy, Data and Security

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, visibility choices, retention, disclosures, security practices and available privacy requests. You agree that we may process data as described there and as permitted or required by applicable law.

• Respect profile visibility, blocks and privacy preferences.
• Do not copy, scrape, sell or share another member’s data outside its intended context.
• Do not upload another person’s image or personal data without the necessary permission.
• Do not expose, misuse or threaten to expose private information.
• Take reasonable steps to secure your own device, email account and password.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Please report suspected account compromise, security incidents or privacy misuse promptly. Do not attempt security testing without prior written permission.

8. Reports, Moderation and Account Actions

MaitriAdda may receive and review reports, relevant account information and content when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect members, prevent abuse, secure the platform or comply with law.

Reports must be honest and made in good faith. Depending on severity, evidence, history and legal duties, action may include a warning, content removal, feature restriction, event action, suspension or account termination.

• Deliberately false, retaliatory or abusive reports may themselves violate these Terms.
• Urgent safety, security or legal risks may require action without advance notice.
• Where appropriate, we may notify the affected account and provide a way to request review.
• We may preserve relevant records and cooperate with lawful orders or authorised authorities.
• We may limit details shared about an investigation to protect privacy, safety and platform integrity.

9. Events and Host Responsibilities

MaitriAdda supports reviewed community events. A host may submit an event only if the applicable eligibility and guideline requirements are met, and an event must be approved before public listing.

Hosts are responsible for accurate event information, lawful permissions, venue suitability, participant communication, capacity, safety planning and timely updates or cancellation. Participants remain responsible for their own decision to attend, conduct, travel, belongings and personal safety.

• Admin approval is a publication and policy review, not a guarantee, endorsement or safety certification.
• Hosts must not materially change an approved event without following the applicable review process.
• Participant approval, waitlist, removal, cancellation and capacity rules shown in the event workflow apply.
• Events must not involve unlawful, exploitative, unsafe or prohibited commercial activity.
• MaitriAdda may pause, reject, cancel or remove an event for policy, safety, legal or operational reasons.

10. Member Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you lawfully submit. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide it and that it complies with these Terms.

• You give MaitriAdda a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display and process your content only as needed to operate, secure, improve and moderate the service.
• This licence is worldwide because service providers may process data across locations, but it does not allow MaitriAdda to sell your profile content as its own.
• The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for limited backups, lawful retention, safety records and content already shared with others.
• You may report content that infringes your rights through the Contact page with enough information for review.

MaitriAdda’s name, logo, software, original design, text and platform materials are owned by MaitriAdda or its licensors. Except as allowed by law, you may not copy, reverse engineer, resell or commercially exploit them without written permission.

11. Service Availability and Third Parties

MaitriAdda may add, change, pause or discontinue features for maintenance, security, legal, technical or business reasons. We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or permanently available access. We may set reasonable technical or usage limits.

The platform may rely on hosting, email, security, analytics or other service providers and may link to third-party sites. Their services and content are governed by their own terms and policies. A link or integration does not mean MaitriAdda endorses or controls that third party.

12. Important Disclaimers and Personal Safety

MaitriAdda provides communication and discovery tools. Except where expressly stated, we do not conduct comprehensive identity, criminal, professional or background verification. Email verification, admin review or a visible account status is not a guarantee of a person’s identity, intentions or conduct.

You are responsible for using personal judgment, protecting your privacy and deciding whether and how to interact. MaitriAdda does not guarantee compatibility, responses, availability, accuracy of all user content, event outcomes or conduct outside the platform.

13. Limitation of Liability and Your Responsibility

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MaitriAdda is provided on an “as available” basis without warranties that the service will always be uninterrupted, secure, accurate or suitable for every purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MaitriAdda will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from member conduct, user-generated content, events, third-party services, unauthorised account access, service interruption or interactions outside the platform. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits rights available under mandatory law.

You are responsible for losses and reasonable costs caused by your unlawful use, your intentional breach of these Terms, or content you had no right to provide. This does not require you to cover losses caused by MaitriAdda’s own unlawful act or negligence where applicable law says otherwise.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting formal proceedings, you and MaitriAdda should first try in good faith to resolve the issue through the Contact page, unless urgent relief or a statutory remedy is required.

Subject to mandatory consumer rights and the jurisdiction prescribed by applicable law, disputes will be handled by the competent courts in Maharashtra, India. Nothing here prevents a user from approaching a regulator, Grievance Appellate Committee or other authority where the law provides that right.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms for new features, safety improvements, legal requirements or operational changes. The revised version and effective date will be posted here. Where a change materially affects member rights or obligations, we will use a reasonable additional notice such as an in-service or email notice when practical.

Continued use after the revised effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using member features and use the available account-deactivation or deletion process. We may also periodically remind users of these rules and the consequences of non-compliance.

16. Contact and Grievance Redressal

For Terms, privacy, safety, content, moderation or account complaints, contact MaitriAdda using the details below.

Please include your contact email, relevant profile or content details, the nature of the concern and supporting information. Do not send passwords, OTPs or unnecessary identity documents. We aim to acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 7 days, or sooner where applicable law requires. Complex matters may require lawful preservation or coordination with authorised authorities.

Where applicable, a person dissatisfied with the Grievance Officer’s decision, or whose grievance is not resolved within the prescribed period, may use the statutory appeal mechanism within the time allowed by law.
